Informational Rate Filings 2010
Hampden Water District has filed for a new rate schedule with the PUC, the proposed effective date would be October 1, 2010.

The Trustees at the Hampden Water District understand this is not an opportune time due to the economy for an increase in rates. However the increase is necessary to ensure infrastructure upgrades and continue to carry out our mission to provide safe reliable drinking water now and into the future.

***Lead Alert***

Some homes in this community have elevated lead levels in their drinking water.  Lead can pose a significant risk to your health.  Fortunately, there is no lead in the water when it enters our distribution system.  Lead enters the water primarily as a result of the corrosion, or wearing away, of material containing lead in the household plumbing system.
More Info...

Look for NSF 61 Certified plumbing fixtures when you are purchasing pipe, solder, fittings, fixtures and faucets in the future to ensure the product contains no more then .25% lead. (The EPA Standard allows faucets and drinking water fixtures to contain up to 8% lead.)
