About Us

Hampden Water District serves 1783 customers and provides fire protection through 178 hydrants and 35.26 miles of water mains. Distributes more than 280,000 gallons of water per day and more than 101,900,000 gallons of water in 2008.

The District stores 1.1 million gallons of water between our two storage facilities located on the Old County Road and the Kennebec Road. These storage facilities allow us to meet peak system demand (468,000 gallons in 2008) while maintaining adequate fire protection.

The Hampden Water District in conjunction with the Bangor Water District conducted a variety of activities and tests relating to water quality, distribution and other matters important to maintaining and providing our customers with safe, reliable, and low-cost drinking water.
